Screening of film
Where the film things are:
1. Which audiences would this attract and why?
The film was originally based on a children’s book, so you would first think that the film was aimed to very young to older children. The book is very old so a lot of people may have read it, so also adults could be interest as well.
2. Would you class his as a children’s film?
I think I would class the film as being for children mostly. Although a wide range of age groups would be interested in watching it.
3. Research the institutional information and inspiration behind the film.
The film was originally a children’s picture book, it was published in 1963. It was written or illustrated by Maurice Sendak and published by Harper & Row and has sold over 18milllion copies worldwide as of 2008. I believe the success of the book must have been a strong reason why they decided to make it into a live-action feature film, and also as it was a picture book it might be hard to make it into a full long film, so it could have been a challenge.
